What being Priceline Pharmacy of the Year means to us

Winning Priceline Pharmacy of the Year was a pretty special moment for our team at Priceline Pharmacy Albury.

There is obviously a lot of excitement that comes with receiving an award like this, but it has also given us a chance to stop and think about what has gone into building the pharmacy we have today.

For Amanda Ward, our owner and pharmacist, that story goes back more than 22 years.

A lot has changed in pharmacy during that time, but the part Amanda has always valued most is the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life. That can happen through health advice and medication support, but it can also be as simple as knowing someone’s name when they walk through the door, asking after their family or taking the time to notice when something does not seem quite right.

That is what community pharmacy looks like to us.

The people behind the pharmacy

Of course, a pharmacy does not become Pharmacy of the Year because of one person.

We have a large team at Priceline Albury, with people working across many different roles and at very different stages of their careers.

Some have been with us for years. For others, Priceline Albury has been their first job. We have watched interns become pharmacists, seen people take on new responsibilities and watched team members develop confidence in themselves and what they can do. As any business owner knows, the experience your customers have is shaped by the people who look after them every day.

That is why our team matters so much to us.

We want Priceline Albury to be somewhere people enjoy coming to work, where they are supported to develop and where they understand the part they play in looking after our customers.

That takes work. It happens through training, conversations, giving people opportunities, listening to ideas and creating an environment where people feel part of what we are building together.

Being local matters too

Although we are part of the Priceline brand, Priceline Pharmacy Albury is a locally owned business.

For us, that means the relationships we build within Albury matter enormously.

People trust our team with their health and the health of their families. We see many customers regularly, sometimes over many years, and those relationships become an important part of what community pharmacy is about.

When someone recommends us to a friend or family member, comes back because they had a good experience or simply chooses to support our business again, we appreciate it.

That trust is something we have to earn every day.

We also believe being a local business means being part of the community around you. That includes supporting local causes, creating jobs, providing opportunities for younger people and contributing where we can.

An award shared by a lot of people

The words Priceline Pharmacy of the Year might be engraved on the trophy, but there are a lot of people behind it.

There is our team, who turn up every day and look after our customers.

There are our customers, who choose us and trust us.

There are the local businesses, organisations and community groups we work alongside.

And there is the broader Albury community that has supported Priceline Albury as we have grown.

So yes, we are incredibly proud to have been named Priceline Pharmacy of the Year.

More than anything, we are proud of what the award represents: our people, our customers and the local community we are very fortunate to be part of.
