EasyBiz Accounting
EasyBiz Accounting helps sole traders and small businesses stay compliant, organised and confident with their numbers. As a Registered Tax Agent, I provide practical support with Bookpeeing, BAS, Income tax returns and ATO compliance, without the overwhelm. I work closely with local businesses to simplify tax obligations and provide clear, practical advice so they can focus on running and growing their business.
After many years working in accounting firms, I saw how overwhelming tax and compliance can feel for small business owners — especially sole traders. Many tradies and small business operators are experts in their trade, but bookkeeping and tax obligations often fall to the bottom of a very busy to-do list. I understand that time is limited, and I help take the stress out of managing the financial side of their business. I wanted to create a practice that is approachable, transparent and genuinely supportive.
Starting my own business meant stepping out of the security of full time employment and building something from the ground up. Like many small business owners, I’ve had to manage risk, learn marketing, build systems and establish trust within the community. Balancing growth with maintaining high professional standards has been important to me.
EasyBiz Accounting focuses specifically on sole traders and small businesses. I combine technical tax expertise with clear communication — no jargon, no confusion.
I provide end-to-end support, from setting up and managing accounting software through to BAS preparation and lodgement of income tax returns. Clients can rely on consistent guidance throughout the entire compliance process.
For businesses that already have a tax agent but require assistance with bookkeeping or BAS preparation, I also offer standalone BAS agent services at competitive rates, providing flexible and cost-effective support where full tax representation is not required.
As a Registered Tax Agent, I don’t just prepare forms — I help clients understand their obligations and avoid costly mistakes. I take a proactive approach, supporting clients early so small issues don’t become larger problems.
Being locally based means clients deal directly with me — not rotating staff. They receive consistent, personalised advice from someone who understands both their business and the local economy. I’m passionate about helping small business owners build clarity and confidence around their finances.
I moved to Albury from Deniliquin in 2020, choosing Albury for its balance of infrastructure, connectivity and regional lifestyle. It offers the opportunity to enjoy community living while still supporting business growth and professional development.
What I value most about the Albury/Wodonga business community is the genuine support and collaboration between local operators. There is a shared understanding of the realities of running a business in a regional area, and a willingness to connect and support one another. It’s rewarding to contribute to a community where small businesses play such an important role in the local economy.
RehabCo
RehabCo is an independent, values driven health and wellbeing organisation specialising in occupational rehabilitation. We partner with employers, insurers and individuals to support recovery from workplace injury, build safer workplaces, and strengthen workforce wellbeing. In a sector increasingly shaped by corporatisation, our independence allows us to stay focused on what matters most — making lives better for our people, our clients, and the communities we live in.
RehabCo began in 1996 in Wagga Wagga, founded by Occupational Therapist Shaun Lane with a strong commitment to personalised, community based care. Shortly after, the Albury branch opened.
From the beginning, the vision was to deliver evidence based rehabilitation services that were practical, ethical and genuinely centred on the individual.
Like many independent businesses, the journey has come with challenges — building credibility, earning trust, and growing sustainably while staying true to our values. As the sector has become increasingly corporatised, maintaining our independence has been a conscious choice. It’s a choice that allows us to prioritise quality, relationships and long term outcomes over short term volume.
What sets RehabCo apart is our independence and our people. Remaining self directed allows us to make decisions that genuinely prioritise our team and the clients we serve. We operate as a close knit, values driven organisation and are always looking for like minded professionals who are passionate about making a difference.
Today, RehabCo is the regional leader in occupational rehabilitation across NSW, and the ACT, with more than 120 dedicated professionals across regional and metropolitan locations. While our footprint has grown, our values have remained the same — delivering holistic, tailored and evidence-based services that inspire independence and renewed possibilities, helping make lives better every day.
We truly value being part of the Albury–Wodonga community. There is a strong sense of connection here, we live here and work here, and relationships matter — whether that’s through local networking, working with employers, or partnering with other health and community services.
We enjoy supporting local employers to build safer workplaces and helping people recover from workplace injuries so they can return to meaningful work and life.
Knowing that our work contributes to a safer, healthier local workforce — and strengthens the wellbeing of the broader Albury Wodonga community is rewarding and reinforces why we do what we do.
Starfish Marketing
Why did you start your small business?
Starfish Marketing started because small businesses were being overlooked. I’d worked in marketing for a long time and saw that a lot of marketing agencies were chasing bigger clients, because that’s where the money was, and smaller businesses were left trying to figure things out on their own. There wasn’t anyone helping small businesses with their marketing.
So, before I started Starfish, I did my research. I spoke to small business owners, asked whether they wanted marketing support and, just as importantly, whether they were willing to pay for it. The answer was yes.
I decided to dip my toe in the water and started Starfish Marketing on 23 December 2015 as a side hustle. Eighteen months later, I left my national corporate role and committed to Starfish full-time. The need was there and, over ten years later, it still is.
Now there are so many local marketing agencies supporting small businesses, and that’s a really good thing. Seeing our community and region succeed through collaboration, shared knowledge, and people genuinely backing each other is something I’m proud to be part of.
Small actions having a big impact. That’s the whole point of Starfish.
Tell us a little bit about what you do
I help business owners make sure their marketing actually happens.
Strategy, content, social media, email marketing, websites, SEO/AEO aka getting found online, mentoring. Basically most of the marketing things, depending on what they need and what makes sense for their business.
My clients know marketing matters, they just don’t want to be the one having to think about it every day. A big part of what I do is staying across how client behaviour is changing. Technology, the economy, the way people research and make decisions; all of that shifts constantly, and keeping up with it is a full-time job in itself. Most business owners don’t have the time or headspace for that on top of everything else they’re running, so I do it for them. Then, I adapt and deliver their marketing so they get to focus on running their business.
In a nutshell, I work alongside my clients as their marketing partner, making life (and business) easier, keeping things clear, consistent, and fun.
What’s something people may not know about you?
I’ve flown a plane once, and I’ve visited the gorillas in Rwanda, which is still one of the most incredible experiences I’ve had. Travel has a way of shifting your perspective and reminding you there’s a much bigger world beyond your own bubble. Also, I’m very excited that Starfish has turned 10 🙂
Method&Matter
What’s your elevator pitch
I help heart-led allied health practitioners and ambitious clinic owners turn their websites into their most powerful business asset, not just a digital brochure.
Together we make your website work harder than you do, so it attracts your perfect people, builds trust, and makes it easy for clients to book and refer.
As a human-friendly web geek, I help you stand out online, grow your business, and make an even bigger impact in the world.
Their digital presence was letting them down. They were busy, overwhelmed by tech, and had outgrown their DIY sites, and one-off fixes from freelancers were never really solving the biggest problems.
Better websites lead to better care. A clear, trustworthy online presence helps the right clients find their perfect practitioner faster.
Having a geek in their corner who can untangle the tech, connect their website to their business goals, and make digital feel doable makes a real difference.
Sometimes it takes a deeper conversation to explore my belief that strong sites start with strategy, and that powerful websites are not just pretty pages. Focusing on real results, word of mouth, and long-term relationships with clients has helped Method&Matter grow.
What is unique is that I do not just launch a site and leave. My programs, including The Practice Performance Project™, combine strategy sessions, website builds or renovations, and then a regular series of improvement projects so your digital presence keeps growing as your practice evolves.
As a service-based business that could work from anywhere, staying rooted here matters to me.
Many of my clients serve this region as clinicians, educators, or service providers, and it feels good to help them share their work with the world from a strong local base.
Albury Business Connect has also made it easier to meet other owners who get it – the juggle, the risks, and the rewards of building something of your own. Those conversations, referrals, and informal check-ins make running a business feel less lonely and a lot more sustainable.

I myself, love when people are super helpful and knowledgeable about what they do, so I recommend them to people and I love helping out people that are having a crack. True Aussie battlers!
Yo Bliss
We’re a young couple who’ve proudly called Albury home for nearly a decade. With our first child on the way, we felt an overwhelming desire to give something back to the town that has given us so much.
The idea for a frozen yogurt shop came to us in June 2024, sparked by the joy we felt enjoying froyo in big cities — fun, fresh, and full of life. We dreamed of creating that same joyful experience right here in Albury.
Our journey hasn’t been easy. We’ve faced personal heartbreak, including the loss of a beloved father, and financial struggles that nearly made us give up. But through it all, our love for this community gave us the strength to keep going.
This shop is more than a business — it’s our love letter to Albury. A place for happy moments, sweet treats, and a little taste of joy for everyone.
Yo Bliss will soon be opening at 489 Dean Street Albury (next to Public House).
The Integrative VA
What’s your elevator pitch
I provide Virtual Assistant services to businesses in the Health and Wellness space. I take on all those little things that take up so much of your time so you can RE-focus on doing the things you LOVE in your business!
What inspired you to start your business, and what challenges did you encounter along the way?
In my last life I was a Gut Health Coach and Fermentation Teacher! I loved what I did but I always found myself running out of time and not feeling “lit up” by all the admin and marketing tasks I needed to complete. I found myself resenting that part of the business and instead of spending 80% of my time IN my business doing the work I loved I was spending 80% of my time ON my business and I knew it needed to change.
What’s unique or exciting about your business?
No 2 days are the same! Some weeks I’m working on 6 different clients tasks and others it’s only a couple but there are always different things popping up and keeping me on my toes. I love that within the job I constantly get to learn new things and use my current skills to make big changes within other peoples businesses.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Albury/Wodonga business community?
The community and level of support is awesome! There are always opportunities to meet new faces and get to know other businesses which I love.
OMG! Decadent Donuts Albury Wodonga
What’s your elevator pitch
At OMG! Decadent Donuts Albury Wodonga, we create fresh, hot donuts that everyone can enjoy — completely gluten free, dairy free, egg free and nut free.
Our mission is simple: no one should miss out on the joy of a warm, delicious donut. We bring decadent treats to markets, events, workplaces and celebrations across the border region — proving that “free from” can still mean full of flavour.
What inspired you to start your business, and what challenges did you encounter along the way?
I was drawn to the business model because of the flexibility in provided to have a business and enjoy family life, staff and HQ in Brisbane have just been so supportive as its not just about the bottom line for them – they care for all their lisencees across Australia. The donuts were the other reason for starting this business, having worked as a store manager for Woolworths people customers would always come and grab their pack of freshly cooked cinnamon donuts on a Saturday morning – donut quality has deteriorated over the years unfortunately and you cant really get fresh, good quality donuts. These have the added bonus of also being a donut that people with food intolerances can eat. I loved the idea that something as simple as a donut could make someone feel seen and included, especially those who usually have to say “no thanks” due to allergies or dietary needs.
Like any small business, there have been challenges — building awareness, educating customers that gluten free can taste amazing, managing event seasons, weather impacts, and balancing growth with family life. But every time someone says, “I haven’t had a donut in years,” it makes it all worthwhile.
What’s unique or exciting about your business?
What makes us unique is our flavour range and donuts that taste like your usual donut (so many say even better). We have 12 handcrafted flavoured sugars made from freeze-dried fruits and spices — flavours like raspberry and coconut, beetroot and ginger, chocolate and chilli, and pineapple and lime.
We’re also unique because our product brings different groups together. At markets and events, you’ll often see families where one person has dietary restrictions — and everyone can share the same treat. That shared experience is special.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Albury/Wodonga business community?
Being part of the cross-border community between Albury and Wodonga is something I genuinely value. It’s a supportive, collaborative region where businesses champion each other.
There’s a strong sense of connection here — whether it’s markets, festivals, local suppliers or business networks. People show up for each other. That support makes running a small business not just viable, but incredibly rewarding.

What inspired you to start your business, and what challenges did you encounter along the way?
Having worked in the conveyancing world for over a decade, Bethany decided it was time to start Complete Property Conveyance to provide her knowledge, passion and expertise directly to clients in a way that resonated with her. Embrace Education Services
What’s your elevator pitch
Embrace Education Services is on a mission to transform how the world views neurodiverse children. Our approach is not just about education and intervention, it’s about changing perspectives. We believe every child should feel safe and comfortable in embracing their true selves. Our services focus on providing a nurturing environment where children can flourish and thrive. Embrace is dedicated to delivering individualised interventions and support, celebrating each child’s uniqueness and empowering children, their families and support networks to recognise and harness their distinct strengths. We are advocating for a world where each child is understood, celebrated and embraced. Our tailored approach includes comprehensive assessments, individualised interventions, and advocacy support to ensure each child not only meets, but exceeds their developmental milestones.
What inspired you to start your business, and what challenges did you encounter along the way?
Over my 14+ year journey as an educator I have witnessed how traditional systems of education often fail to meet the needs of every child, especially those who learn differently. My journey to founding Embrace Education Services began early in 2023 with my own child’s experiences in the school system. When my 6-year-old was having difficulties at school, it became clear that his unique learning style wasn’t fully understood or supported within the traditional educational framework. Navigating the diagnosis process was an eye-opener — it highlighted a significant gap in services and support for neurodiverse children in the Albury – Wodonga region. Faced with these challenges, I felt a strong call to action. I envisioned a place where neurodiverse children and their families could feel affirmed, understood and supported. A service that didn’t just offer assessments, education and intervention, but provided personalised advocacy and support, tailored to each child’s individual needs. As a new business owner and parent, balancing the demands of running a business, along with personal responsibilities has been a challenge to say the least. Successfully managing this dual role will continue to be an evolving journey as the demands of both roles change over time.
What’s unique or exciting about your business?
What makes Embrace Education Services uniquely exciting is the heart of our mission: to embrace each child for their unique strengths. This business is not just a service, it’s a personal commitment to changing the worlds perspective in understanding and supporting neurodiversity. What sets us apart is our personalised approach. We don’t offer one-size-fits-all solutions; instead we focus on individualised strategies that honour each child’s unique learning style. This approach stems from a belief that every child has potential and the right to an education that they can access fairly. As a parent of a neurodiverse child I am acutely aware of the stress this can place on families. Embrace endeavours to offer services that reduce the complexity associated with navigating support services. We pride ourselves on a holistic model of care – from initial assessments and professional diagnosis support to tailored interventions and ongoing advocacy. In essence, Embrace Education Services is more than an education and therapy center; we hope for it to be a source of empowerment for neurodiverse children and their families.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Albury/Wodonga business community?
This is a very new community for me and I haven’t had much of a chance to engage yet. However I am a very social person and am looking forward to creating a network within the business community and supporting other members.

CanDo Admin
What’s your elevator pitch
CanDo Admin supports established small business owners and busy consultants by providing tailored remote solutions, from inbox and admin management to branded documents and executive assistance. By partnering with CanDo, clients can distance themselves from day-to-day admin responsibilities and focus their energy elsewhere.
What inspired you to start your business, and what challenges did you encounter along the way?
CanDo was established to help small business owners navigate their administration responsibilities. Although a necessary part of any business, it is not always the owners’ specialty or focus. As a primarily virtual business, I am able to work with clients all over Australia, allowing me greater access to my ideal clients. CanDo was established in November 2019 and having never run a business before, a pretty steep learning curve has resulted. The biggest hurdle has been overcoming the lack of knowledge surrounding virtual admin support in our local community. There have been many blank stares along the way when I said “I’m a virtual assistant”. So much so that I no longer refer to myself as a VA and have rebranded to make things clearer. Tweaking my messaging, marketing and service offering is also an ongoing work in progress as I seek the right balance that attracted my ideal clients.
What’s unique or exciting about your business?
There is untapped potential in our local community due to a lack of knowledge surrounding virtual admin support. The advantages far outweigh the disadvantages, and it is definitely a viable and cost-effective alternative to employing someone. So many small business owners struggle to keep on top of their admin or spend many hours on it when they could be using their time far more effectively to grow their business and serve their clients. Unlike other virtual admin support providers, I deliberately keep my schedule fluid with no set times and days allocated to a particular client. This allows me to provide assistance when needed without displacing another client when an urgent task comes up. CanDo’s main service offering is executive assistance tailored to small business owners. Just because you aren’t a corporate executive, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the EA experience, with someone who has your back and genuinely cares about your business as much as you do.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Albury/Wodonga business community?
The local business community is so friendly and welcoming. I’ve met so many awesome people during the past 4 years and I’m very appreciative of their presence in my life and business journey. I now have a group of local business owners who I work with and bouncing things off as part of learning about business. The amount of engagement and support for our community also inspires me and is a credit to our community as a whole.

What inspired you to start your business, and what challenges did you encounter along the way?
I started Sharp Carpentry because I wanted to work on projects that actually interested me — things like decks and outdoor areas, not just framing houses all day. The hardest part early on was learning how to run the business side while still being on the tools, but it’s been worth it and I’ve learnt a lot.

From smart lighting and audio to integrated climate, security, and energy control, we transform how people interact with their spaces seamlessly, intelligently, and beautifully. Our work spans premium homes, commercial venues, and complex installations across northeast Victoria and southeast NSW. What sets us apart isn’t just our technology it’s our process. We collaborate with builders, architects, and property owners from concept to completion, ensuring every system is tailored, tested, and future ready. What inspired you to start your business, and what challenges did you encounter along the way?
After decades in the building and automation industry including running businesses in Geelong for over 20 years, I moved to Northeast Victoria two years ago for a change of pace and a better quality of life. I now live in Wangaratta, and I absolutely love it. What inspired me to start Luxetec was a clear gap in the regional market for high-quality, intelligent automation systems delivered with professionalism, care, and long-term support. I saw people spending serious money on technology that wasn’t well designed, properly installed, or supported and I knew I could do better. Starting this business wasn’t just about technology it was about building something that contributes to the community I now call home. Wangaratta and the surrounding region deserve the same caliber of service and innovation you’d find in any capital city and that’s exactly what we deliver.
What’s unique or exciting about your business?
Luxetec delivers capital-city-quality home and building automation to regional Victoria and NSW backed by real expertise, tailored design, and reliable long-term support. What makes us unique is our ability to integrate elegant, invisible technology into homes and venues that just works, no stress, no gimmicks. We solve problems others walk away from, and we genuinely care about the experience our clients have every day.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Albury/Wodonga business community?
What I enjoy most is the genuine sense of connection. In the Albury business community, people still put relationships first and that aligns perfectly with how I run Luxetec. There’s a real country values mindset here: do what you say you’re going to do, show up for others, and support your clients and peers like they’re your neighbors because they often are. I’ve found a network of like-minded business owners who care about quality, trust, and community, not just transactions. That’s something special, and it’s why I’m proud to be building a business in this region.

What inspired you to start your business, and what challenges did you encounter along the way?
My stepdad and I didn’t always get along when I was growing up, but he had a saying that always stuck with me. “Why work for someone else when you can work for yourself.” As terrified as I was to leave the safety and security of a salary with a regular paycheque, I knew I had to give working for myself full-time a go.
What’s unique or exciting about your business?
The most exciting thing about my business is the opportunity to work with so many wonderful local businesses to support their marketing and promotional needs. I get to combine my passions for writing and photography and package them in creative and strategic ways to get results.

What’s your elevator pitch?
I am passionate about helping you style and furnish your space without the overwhelm. Transforming it into a haven of comfort, style, and functionality for you to love. Let’s work together to bring your dream space to life.
What inspired you to start your business, and what challenges did you encounter along the way?
I have loved interiors since I was about 8 years old, constantly redecorating and painting my bedrooms. I was inspired to undertake a career change and start my interior design journey during COVID following the change in both our work and home environments. The connection between our environment and both our physical and mental health became clear. Empowering clients to express their unique personalities is the ultimate goal.
What’s unique or exciting about your business?
My aim is to educate others on the importance of understanding our environments and the impact they have on our physical and mental health. I love problem solving and getting the home owners or business owners excited to have a space that works and feels right. Using my knowledge and life experience has been rewarding. I love styling, complete room transformations and exploring the impact colour has on how a space feels.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Albury/Wodonga business community?
The Albury Wodonga business community has been amazing! While I didn’t grow up here, I feel as though I have been a local my whole life. I have met many incredible people and business owners who are open and honest about life and business. The opportunity to develop connections and feel such a strong sense of community is something that is truly special.
